In February 2022, we ran an advocacy training programme in collaboration with 6KBW College Hill to provide our candidates with training on plea in mitigations, bail applications and statutory interpretation. It was a huge success, with 4 out of the 6 candidates who participated having now secured pupillage. The training also provided Chambers with a useful insight into the experiences of our candidates.

In the 2022/23 academy year, as part of the BTB Academy, our candidates will also take part in an advocacy training programme focusing on the types of advocacy exercises they may be asked to complete in pupillage interviews across a range of practice areas.

This video provides information about the aims of the advocacy training programme. Hear from the BTB candidates themselves on how they found the course and what they have gained from these sessions.
